Product care guide

Do not brush or scrub the rug.
Vacuum clean it periodically and do not use a rotating or brush head vacuum cleaner as this may damage the rug.
If spills occur, blot immediately with a colourfast absorbent material or paper towel and work from the outside to the inside of the stain.
When positioning your rug, please avoid direct sunlight and rotate periodically to equalise wear.
Use protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening and pilling.
If a thread comes lose and sticks above the pile, to do not pull but simply trim with scissors.
We recommend periodic professional cleaning to ensure your rug hygene and longevity.
Do not machine-wash, steam clean or dry-clean the rug and avoid strong chemicals.
Rugs made with natural fibres, especially wool, will shed loose fibres for a time. This is completely normal and regular vacuuming will help minimise this process.

What are Flatweave Rugs?

Made in a vast range of patterns and colours, flat-woven rugs have an old manufacturing history. Think Dhurries, Kilims or even Aubussons, these rugs have been around for centuries and depending on the type of material used they can add a touch of elegant luxury or a natural textured look into the home. Easy to manufacture therefore more affordable than their knotted counterparts, these rugs are appropriately named flatweave in that they are manufactured without a pile. No knots are used in this ancient technique – the warp and the weft, the vertical and horizontal treads on the vertical loom, are woven together without the use of a backing material so these threads are both the foundation and the pattern of the rug. Flat-woven rugs are reversible, thin, lightweight and can be easily folded or carried. They are quite often made of jute, hemp, wool and even PET, making them the ideal choice for outdoor areas also.
